GAMEATHON 2021 - The Take 2
After 2020's Gameathon was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were determined that 2021's had to be a huge success. So, the planning went ahead as usual and we were all set for our 4th Children In Need charity event, until mere days before the proposed date we had a covid outbreak in the team, forcing us to postpone. That didn't stop us however, as a few weeks later we set off again, and finally got Gameathon started!

Take 2 of 2021's Gameathon was a huge hit, with the largest team yet (even though we still had a couple people having to game from home due to the Covid outbreak), with more games being played than we'd ever managed before! However, at the beginning of the event we were still short of out target of £3002, and had a lot of work to do to beat it. With lots of videos and messages to family, friends and anyone that could donate, and even a visit from local mayor Ken Pollard, we ended up raising over £1,100 in 24 hours alone and an amazing £4246 all together for Children In Need!
In addition to this, I was nominated for the Sir Terry Wogan Fundraiser of the Year award, finishing runner-up! This allowed me to speak to Michael Ball live on BBC Radio 2 and promote awareness of the Gameathon, gaining donations in the process. The team also got personalised messages from celebrities to spur us on during the event itself which are linked below:
